Youth Engagement
Young people are actively involved with the HAC via our Cadet units run by the Regiment, the Special Constabulary and in affiliated schools. In all cases, they offer challenging and enjoyable activities and prepare young people to play an active part in the community while developing valuable life skills.
Activities enjoyed by cadets include:
- First Aid courses
- training camps
- cross-country expeditions
- firing drills
- navigation skills
- water sports
- field crafts
- weapons handling
- leadership development
- teamwork
- parades and awards evenings
Cadets are also able to earn various awards to support personal statements.
Members of the two HAC-badged CCF contingents and the Police Cadets are also actively engaged with the HAC Active Unit's ceremonial and public duties, including:
- parading at the Lord Mayor's Show
- running information stands at the annual HAC Open Evening
- attending Remembrance services
