Located in the heart of the City of London, the Honourable Artillery Company (HAC) offers a combination of historic character and modern flexibility, making it a distinctive venue for a range of events throughout the year. With both indoor and outdoor spaces available, the HAC provides a backdrop that balances tradition with contemporary amenities.
This summer, the HAC is placing a spotlight on its Summer Terrace and Artillery Garden — two outdoor areas well-suited for seasonal gatherings. The Summer Terrace has recently been updated with teak furniture, commercial-grade parasols, and extended AstroTurf. It can accommodate events of various sizes, from smaller receptions to larger social occasions, all set against the historic façade of Armoury House.
As part of its seasonal offering, the HAC has introduced the Great British Summer Fête package. The terrace is styled with traditional bunting and wildflowers to reflect the atmosphere of a British fête. Guests can participate in classic fairground activities such as splat a rat and Tic, Tac, Toe, alongside live maypole dancing. The décor and entertainment are designed to create a relaxed and nostalgic environment.
Catering for all events at the HAC is provided by Searcys, who focus on seasonal British produce. Menus can include canapés, bowl food, and a Savour-the-Summer grazing buffet, as well as a traditional BBQ option. These offerings are developed by Executive Head Chef Andy Saupe all menus are tailored to suit the style and format of each event.
Adjacent to the Summer Terrace, Artillery Garden offers a five-acre open space, suitable for larger gatherings of up to 5,000 guests. Its size and layout allows for a broad range of events, including team-building activities, sports days, and open-air receptions. The space also hosts regular large-scale events such as London Concours, a luxury car show, and the Standard Chartered Great City Race, a corporate running event. These examples highlight the scale and adaptability of the garden.
Indoor spaces at the HAC offer further flexibility. The Prince Consort Rooms is the largest internal space, accommodating up to 400 guests, with modern AV capabilities suitable for conferences, dinners, and presentations.
Armoury House, the historic core of the venue, includes a number of rooms for smaller or more formal events. The Long Room, with its period features and high ceilings, provides a setting for formal dinners or receptions. Other rooms, such as the Queen’s Room, Ante Room, and Medal Room, cater to private dining, board meetings, or VIP gatherings. These rooms retain the building’s historic atmosphere and offer a more traditional setting.
The HAC’s combination of outdoor and indoor options, central location, and historic setting makes it a flexible venue for summer events, corporate functions, and private celebrations.
